Dynamic Christian Living … Questions

Welcome to JustSayin.faith

Christian Living has so many aspects. Consequently, I expect we all have a question or two at some point in time. I’m sure that in some cases the questions are rhetorical but in many they are not

This space aims to identify what Scripture says on topics/questions I have heard or been asked over the years. Including whilst on an overseas mission field.

Guide to Christian Living
A Bible read prayerfully
brings clarity to the path ahead

Without wanting to sound frivolous the Bible is always a great place to start. But we must approach the Word with a sense of humble desiring.

“Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ”, said St Jerome (c. 347 – 420AD). He is also recorded as claiming …. “The Scriptures are shallow enough for a babe to come and drink without fear of drowning and deep enough for theologians to swim in without ever reaching the bottom”. So it is, we should expect to find the answers to life’s questions in the Bible, the living Word of God (Hebrews 4:12)

Importantly, in Christian Living, don’t forget ….
The church, likened to the Body of Christ (by Paul in 1 Corinthians 12), has many different members (parts). Whilst these parts may respond very differently to the head (Jesus Christ) they are meant to be joined together by ligaments of Love (1 Corinthians 13). “From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work” (Ephesians 4:16)

Therefore …

I don’t intend to present an argument, a formal statement or even a personal opinion but rather just present the Biblical perspective

Being confident of the character of God, that He is Love and He is Good etc, is foundational to the answer of lots of questions related to Christian living.
[See “what’s with suffering – part I” in particular to sure up your Scriptural basis for this]

Anyhow

I hope you find this an easy read. Also, that it brings clarity on issues in Christian living about which you may have wondered but didn’t ask.  Or did ask, but didn’t receive a helpful answer. Please feel free to comment here or on any post. On the other hand, please feel free to ask a question (related to living a Christian life), if it is not already covered. All comments are moderated – approved before published. So if you’d prefer your comment remain private please request so in your comment text. There have already been numerous comments that remain unpublished so no hassles

The Key to Christian Living

Best of all, when reading the posts, prayerfully check the Scriptures for yourself. Expectantly ask Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth to you as that is part of His promised role.
“…… the Spirit of truth ….. will guide you into all truth …..” (John 16:13)
Speaking of whom Jesus also promised … “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,[*] who will never leave you” (John 14:16)
* could also read: Comforter, or Encourager, or Counselor according to the footnote

Don’t have a Bible? There’s plenty online. For example, there’s Bible Gateway which stores around 70 different versions of the English translations. They are all searchable and there are also sections of Study Tool resources and a store for online purchases. Here’s a copy of the New International Version at Bible Gateway. There is also the YouVersion Bible with possibly more versions available plus Reading Plans, Devotionals and videos. It is possibly easier to use on a mobile device using the “Bible app
